Obituary for Zelma Dicus Hicks:
Zelma was born in Ward, Arkansas, on June 12, 1942 to Owen and Bertha Dicus. She went to
heaven on May 18, 2023.
Zelma spent her childhood and teenage years in and around North Central Arkansas, including
Cabot, Arkansas, and had many fond memories of her time there. During her high school years,
the family relocated to eastern New Mexico and settled in the town of Causey, New Mexico,
where she lived for several years. Zelma graduated from Causey high school and moved to
Lubbock, TX soon afterward marrying Wayne Fuller and having her 3 precious boys. After some
years Zelma married E.B. “Tobe” Hicks, moved to the surrounding of Lubbock farming, ranching,
and enjoying family. Later in life Zelma reunited with a long-time friend Lynn Carmical and
moved back to Arkansas. They spent many great years together enjoying each other’s love,
families, and time until Lynn’s passing, at which time she moved back to Lubbock to be with her
kids and grandkids. Zelma was the most amazing mother, partner, mama, and friend. She was
loved by all who knew her… and still is. She loved well, and touched dearly, all who entered her
life.
Zelma is survived by her three sons, David, Steven and Rusty, grand children, Eric, Shauna,
Cody, Lindsey, Alex, Dusty, Caitlin, Kameron, Cole, and numerous great grandchildren and
extended family.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, May 28th at:
