Theresa Smith-Beatty Obituary

Theresa Ann "Terry" Smith Beatty, 75, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on June 28, 2020. She was born to parents Joseph Hissong and Beverly Craig, on November 16th, 1944 in Redwood City, California. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Brian Smith; sister, Janet Connor; and brother, Bruce Hissong.

She grew up in Utica, Ohio but was fortunate to experience living in many different places including Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, California, Arkansas, Tennessee, and even Mexico. 

Terry graduated from Utica High School in 1962. She later studied Accounting at American Commercial College and graduated with an Associate’s degree. Terry held many different job positions throughout the years and was always considered to be a hard worker and a great homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, gardening, and  attending bible study at Sunset Church of Christ. She loved to camp and to spend her days at lakes and beaches. Her biggest accomplishment was raising her three children. She was super proud of her grandchildren.

Terry met James Beatty in 2002. They were married on November 3, 2017 in Lubbock, TX. 

Terry is survived by her husband, James Beatty; her brother, Joe Hissong; her sister, Deborah Heifner; her son, Bradley Smith (Stephanie); her daughter, Robbin Colley (Jon); her daughter in law, Beth Smith; her step son Brent Beatty; granddaughters , Hollie Denton, Shea Mullican, Keegan Smith, and Laken Colley; her grandson, Colton Smith; step grandson Luke Beatty; and great grandson Rowan Mullican.

The family would like to thank Texas Home Health for all their help and hospice care. They have entrusted Agape Funeral Home with the cremation arrangements. The burial and ceremony will take place at Teck Cemetery in Austin, TX. Terry will live on in our hearts forever.
