Stephen Lewis Keen was born on January 4, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri. The youngest of six children
born to Roberta (Journey) and Wendell Keen. Stephen entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 2, 2023,
surrounded by his loved ones.
Stephen’s early years were spent in the Kansas City area before moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1971.
Stephen began his career in sales with Kirby Vacuums where he excelled and received many awards for
his hard work and dedication. Stephen then went on to be General Manager of Mustang Homes and
Land for over 20 years. Stephen was a dedicated employee and loved working to provide for and
support his beautiful family.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father Wendell Keen, Mother Roberta Keen, Sister Mary (Keen)
Weiss, and sister Ann (Keen) Shafer.
Stephen is Survived by his wife Angela Keen, four children, Clayton Keen, Joshua Johnson, Cole Johnson,
Madalynn Haltom and her husband Cole Haltom: three siblings, Jane Rice, Wendell Keen, and Roberta
Harvey three beloved grandchildren Hayden Keen, Mallary Keen and Alaina Johnson. Stephen is also
survived by eleven nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 10:00am at St Paul’s on the Plains Episcopal Church
located at 1510 Avenue X Lubbock, Texas 79401. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be
made to St Paul’s on the Plains Episcopal Church, where Stephen was a dedicated member for 16 years.
