Gary Bishop, (83), of Lubbock, Texas passed away from natural causes on May 19th, 2023, surrounded by his loving bride and lifelong friends. Gary wore many hats over his lifetime, and was fondly known as “Pops”, “Dad”, “Pappy” and “My Love”.

He was born on September 12th, 1939 to Jim and Marie Bishop in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was raised in the Midwest and graduated with a Master of Science in Medical Illustration from The Medical College of Georgia. He then moved to Texas as Medical Illustrator Department Head at Texas Tech University and proceeded to call Lubbock home for over five decades.

He was compassionate, funny, athletic, a talented artist and a dirt bike enthusiast. Additionally, he enjoyed camping, recreational boating and loved the great outdoors.
