Robert Bruce Weikert

Robert Bruce Weikert, 61, of Lubbock passed away Tuesday November 23rd, 2021.  He was born to Charles Kenneth Weikert, Jr. and Fannie Ida Weikert (Smith) on February 4th, 1960 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. After moving to Lubbock, he attended Frenship schools and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for many years. While he refused to admit how intelligent he was, he did find himself enlisted in the Air Force and worked for some time as a hydraulic mechanic, inventing rig parts used in the oil field. 

He spent his years tinkering on cars, living fast, laughing loud, and bonding with his daughters over rock music, dirt bikes, go-karts, and vacations to anywhere he could drive to in a day. He held special bonds with everyone in his life, especially his brother Clayton, who guided Robert through life with love and religion. 

Robert was welcomed home by his parents, Charles and Fannie and those left to cherish his memory include his brothers Walter McKinney and wife Frankie of Childress, Clayton McKinney and wife Kaye of Tyler; his sisters Dortha Phillips of Paris, TX and Ida Reilly of California; his daughters Misty Weikert of Lubbock, Mindie Weikert of Lubbock, Casey Estrada and husband Kenny of Midland, and Laci Weikert of Lubbock; Robert also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Emily, Amaya, Hallie, Hunner, Carson, Caden, Remi, Ava, Jude, and Olivia along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends

Services will be held Saturday December 4th, 2021 at 11:00am at Agape Funeral Chapel with Bobby Cates officiating. Flowers can be sent to Agape Funeral Chapel or in lieu of flowers please contact the family for memorial donations.
