Ricky D Gauntt

Ricky D. Gauntt was born July 19, 1954, in Big Spring, TX and passed away October 5, 2023, in Lubbock, TX.

He lived in several towns in West Texas and New Mexico and finally settled in Carlsbad, NM. He graduated from Nursing School in Carlsbad in May of 1992. He was an awesome nurse and cared greatly for all of his patients. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time outside gardening. He was an excellent cook and loved to bake, sharing his craft with neighbors and friends.

Ricky was preceded in death by his dad, Morris “Lucky” Gauntt, his mom Clara Mae Marks, and one brother Michael Marks.

He is survived by his husband Kim K McMeekin, daughter Chrissy Fortner and husband Michael, son Brandon Gauntt and wife Brittney, and son Joshua Gauntt. Grandchildren Fausto IV and wife Ashley, Jonathan Montes, Seth Montes, Sarah Montes, Blake Gauntt, Gracey Gauntt, and Ella Gauntt. One Brother Morris Gauntt and wife Teresa Hendley-Gauntt, and one sister Donna Gauntt. Nephews Steven Hutchens, Dylan Gauntt, Tyler Gauntt, and Mitchell Butler. Nieces Stephanie Hutchens and Michelle Butler.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
