I Love You to the Moon and Back, Sister, Mom, Granny
Norma Jean Holland, age 80, passed away peacefully August 2, 2021. She was born May 31, 1941, in Morton, Texas.
She was a Child of God first, Sister, Mom, Granny and Great-granny. She dearly and deeply loved every sister, child, grandchild and great-grandchild with all Her heart. Sewing, quilting, making blankets and throws, as well as sharing tasty baked goods with others were among her favorite things to do. Her heart was bigger than anything as she always treated strangers like family and took in as many stray animals as she could. She was a survivor of life as a single Mom for many years, working at several restaurants to make ends meet before working several years at Morton Foods and later working and retiring from Hancock Fabrics. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman and will be Truly missed every day.
Jean was greeted in Heaven by her father, Virgil Ruben Haney, her mother, Ona Mae Hamilton, a brother, Virgil Haney, a daughter Brenda Jean Holland, and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Nicole.
Jean is survived by her sister, Shirley Houston; sister, Sandra Wanzor; sister, Carolyn Connor and brother-in-law Eddie; sister, Darlene Beaver; her son, David Holland and wife Tina; daughter, Connie Garrison and husband Steve; daughter, Christina Baker and husband Ron; grandchildren, Steven Garrison and wife Lauryn; David Holland and girlfriend Hollie; Matthew Garrison and wife Holly; Miranda Holland-Barrentine and husband John; Daniel Garrison and wife Stevie; Robert Holland and wife Holly; Clinton Garrison and wife Elysia; Ashley Holland-Yandell and husband Bryan; Logan Garrison; Cassidy Jasper-Hopkins and husband Kendal; Kendra Holland-McDonald and husband Matt; Tanner Jasper and wife Ashley; her great-grandchildren, Danny, Laney, Henry, Vincent, Sasha, Alana, Avery, Liam, Brynlee, Kyler, Kayleigh, Baylor, Codey, McKenna, Austin, Jaylee, Connor, Kadence, David Gage, Leiden, Haylee, Brentley, Daphny, Caylee, Ivy, and all nieces, nephews, and cousins. All of these she “loved to the moon and back” and touched deeply.
