Mary Katherine (Reynolds) Butts

Mary Katherine “Kathy” Reynolds Butts, 64, was called home Tuesday, March 22, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Reynolds and Merna Rose Reynolds Board. She is survived by a loving family including her husband of 46 years, Richard Butts; six children, Randy Butts and wife, Kristina; LaDonna Butts, Rebekah Butts Niccolson and husband, William; Chris Butts, Jeremiah Butts and Annabelle Butts; five precious grandchildren Josephine, Katherine and Carter Butts; Joshua (J.J.) and Lillian Harvey; and many more family members and friends. Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother and a longtime member of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. Kathy’s passion was caring for children, she worked at several childcare facilities and elementary schools within Lubbock. Kathy and Richard were active foster parents caring for children in the Lubbock area. Kathy was a collector of refrigerator magnets and had quite the collection from her children’s and grandchildren’s travels. Her hobbies included reading, singing and spending time with her grandchildren especially at their birthday parties. Kathy will be dearly missed by family and friends who admired her passion for her faith and family. The memorial service will be Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Southcrest Baptist Church (3801 S Loop 289 Lubbock, Texas) a livestream will be available: (www.southcrestlive.tv). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Texas Girls & Boys Ranch www.txgbr.org in Kathy’s name, to support their mission of caring for children in our community.
