Margaret Jordan Obituary

Margaret Ann (Wall) Jordan was born August 8, 1946 in Nocona, Texas. Her parents were Virigil and Margaret Wall, who preceded her in death. Margaret grew up in Haskell where she attended Haskell Public Schools 1st through 12th grades. She attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Speech and Theater in 1968 and she was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega. She attended Texas Tech university in Lubbock from 1971-1972 to attain her Kindergarten Certification.

Margaret taught for 30 years at Roosevelt ISD in Lubbock and retired in 2008. At Roosevelt Elementary, she taught 5th grade, 6th grade, kindergarten, and the In-School Support class K-5. She was an active member of the Texas Classroom Teachers’ Association, held several officers’ positions in the local organization and was Roosevelt Classroom Teacher Association President for two years.

Margaret was known as Grammy by grandchildren and they were the “joy of her life”. Margaret was “Aunt Miggy” to her nieces, nephews, and great nieces! She was cherished by her family, loved planning family gatherings with Christmas being her favorite time of the year! Margaret’s faith in God, being a Christian, entertaining family and friends, bowling, playing the piano and traveling, antiquing, going to movies and spending time with her husband Larry were the wonderful blessings she treasured. She wrote, “I love family, friends, talking, smiling and organizing!”

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Larry Jordan; daughter Amanda and son-in-law Josh Stewart and their daughters Baylee and Adilee of Philomath, Oregon; son Aaron Hough and daughter-in-law Joni and their son Gunner of Lubbock; stepdaughter Lacie and husband Joe Schaunaman and their children Jordan, Coby and Blake of Lubbock; stepson Ryan Jordan and wife Jenner and their sons Cooper and Garrett of Amarillo.
