On August 30, 2020, Lynda Susan Durham passed away peacefully after a long illness. Lynda was born March 3, 1952 at Westernport, MD to Yvette Yvonne Cleveland-Kirkpatrick and John Thomas Kirkpatrick. Yvette’s second husband, Neil Service Durham, adopted Lynda and Yvette and Neil raised her together. Lynda was a graduate of Clovis High School on May 28, 1970 and was an avid dancer, actress and performing artist. She was awarded and recognized by The National Thespian Society in 1969 for her meritorious participation in the dramatic arts. Lynda was a cat lover and a world traveler. She visited most every continent in her lifetime, including the Pacific Islands where her father, Neil, served heroically during World War II. Lynda eventually settled in Lubbock, Texas where she worked and retired from Texas Tech University. Because she had a special place in her heart for Santa Fe, New Mexico, Lynda’s ashes will be spread by her dear friends in Santa Fe. She will be sorely missed…may she rest in peace.
