Luis Gutierrez

Luis Mendez Gutierrez, 71, of Lubbock passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at his home with his wife Bertha Holguin by his side. 

Luis was born August 23, 1950 to Gregorio and Gregoria Gutierrez. Luis Loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and he loved to make people laugh with his incredible sense of humor . Luis was a jack of all trades, but his passion was painting which he did most of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Luis is survived by his wife Bertha Holguin and 8 children - daughters Angie Gonzales (Michael) of Slaton, Nancy Gutierrez (Steven Grimm) of Temple, Cindy Gutierrez of Taylor, Yesenia Olivas of Lubbock, Monica Perez of Lubbock, Sandra Baca of Lubbock and sons Jayson Gutierrez and Gustava Ramirez of Lubbock. He was also blessed with 27 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters Mame Paez of Kerman, California, Carmen Flores of Muleshoe, Ninfa Esparza of Fresno, California, Youlanda Rivas of Fresno, California, Gloria Barker of Dallas, Oregon and brothers Gregorio (Greg) Gutierrez of Lubbock, Rey Gutierrez of Lubbock, Ernie Gutierrez of Berlin, Wisconsin, Arturo Gutierrez of Florida and William Gutierrez of Clovis, California

Luis is preceded in death by his parents Gregorio and Gregoria Gutierrez, brother Isidro Gutierrez and sister Dominga (Minga) Gutierrez
