Kathryn (Cooper) Carlisle

Memorial service for Kathryn Carlisle, 50, of Anton will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday March 27th at the First Baptist Church in Anton.  Kathryn passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 21st at her home in Anton surrounded by loved ones.  

Kathryn was born on July 28th, 1970 to Jerry and Kathleen Cooper in Dallas, Texas.  After high school, Kathryn married her high school sweetheart, Kirk, on July 9th 1988.  She joined him in his military career and moved to Omaha Nebraska.  Over the next 13 years, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse and helping others.  After being away for 20 years, they settled back in Anton in 2006 where she worked and went to school again to gain her RN from South Plains College.  Nursing and her grandkids were her passion but, quilting was her obsession.  Just ask the group of ladies that would meet as often as possible to swap ideas and stories while making items that showed their talent and love for giving.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Kathleen Cooper.  She is survived by her husband, Kirk and there 6 children; Christopher of Anton TX, Krysta Garrett of Lubbock, TX, Lane Vellinga, Jacqueline Vellinga, Sarah Carlisle, and Michael Carlisle of Anton, TX.  One sister; Amy Rojas of Littlefield Tx; and 2 grandchildren
