Katherine Nelms Obituary

Katherine Jeanette Nelms born on January 26th, 1961 in France, joined the lord on May 13th at the age of 59 in her home in Lubbock TX.

Katherine or Kathy as she liked to be called was the fourth child out of six siblings.  She was born in France where her father was stationed in the army and they moved around a lot. Growing up she was a great student and loved to read and journal in her notebooks. Kathy was an avid Dr. Pepper fan, loved the Dallas Cowboys, and helping take care of others.  Kathy would go on to obtain her LVN license and worked in different areas of the hospital St. Mary’s/ Covenant in Lubbock TX.  She would retire from Covenant as an oncology intake nurse.  Kathy was never married and had no children but was the aunt to two nieces and one nephew and a great aunt to eight nieces and two nephews. Kathy loved to spend time with her nieces and nephew and their children.  Kathy was a very giving and generous person she would give you her last dollar if you needed it.

Kathy will now join her mother and father Mr. James Nelms and Mrs. Letha Nelms in heaven, along with her brothers Timothy Jarrett and James Nelms.  Kathy leaves behind two brothers Lewis Maness of Abilene, William Nelms of Slaton, a sister Judy Armstrong of Ft. Worth, nieces Kelli Turner of Ft. Worth, Bailey Nelms of Lubbock, and a nephew Johnny Gonzales of Ft. Worth.

She has come to the end of her road, and the sun has set. Do not cry, do not weep, her soul has been set free. She can rest, she can sleep among those she has missed. Miss her, love her, but let her go.

Due to current pandemic, COVID-19, and rules in place, no funeral service will be held for the public.
