Jane was born to Antonio & Lupe Levario on October 22, 1949, in Albuquerque, NM. She passed away,
peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Jane married Erminio Castillo on June 4, 1968 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Together they raised four
daughters and one son.
Jane typically worked as a cook throughout her life. She was a fabulous cook, and her food was always
delicious. She often shared her tips, tricks and secrets to cooking. At one point, Jane, along with her
husband, owned and operated a restaurant, Los Castillo’s in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Jane lived in Vaughn and Las Vegas, New Mexico for most of her life. She briefly lived in Mountain
Home, Arkansas and Hobbs, New Mexico before moving to Slaton to be with her sister.
Jane loved life. She loved to go fishing, especially lake fishing for trout. She was good at home
economics, she loved to sew, crochet, and cook. She loved Sonic cokes, Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets,
shopping trips (especially to Kohls), she loved flowers, and desserts (she especially loved homemade
cracker jacks). She loved to laugh, and that laugh was contagious. The one thing Aunt Jane loved the
most was family and she especially loved time spent with family.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Lupe Levario, her husband Erminio Castillo, one

grandson, Jesus Palomino, and two granddaughters Bristalle Mondragon, and Zaelynn Barela, brothers-
Pablo Levario, Atilano Levario, Anthony Levario, sisters- Lulu Levario, Lorretta Wood, and Sylvia Dubose.

Jane is survived by her three sisters- Ignacia Castillo of Slaton, Christine Walters of Amarillo, Lupe
Levario of Amarillo, one brother- Julian Levario of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Four daughters- Barbara
Rendon (husband Paul) of Eden, Juanita Marquez (husband Elias) of Hobbs, NM, Katherine Castillo of Las
Vegas, NM and Jennah Castillo of Hobbs, NM, one son- Erminio Robert Castillo Jr. (wife Denise) of Clovis,
NM, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
While here in Slaton, Jane was very well cared for by the staff at Bridge Hospice. She often spoke of
how much she liked everyone that she met from Bridge Hopsice. In just a short amount of time, Jane
developed a special relationship with her nurse, Lindsey. Jane would often mention, “I love Lindsey,
she’s really nice”.
The family of Jane Castillo would like to thank Bridge Hospice for all their care and support while walking
through this journey with Jane.
