James was born May 26, 1950, to Obey and Ida Mae Oney in Paducah. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Penny Gale Oney; brother-in-law, Kenny Bryant and wife, Carol; nephews: Shayne Bryant and wife, Misty, and Eric Bryant and wife, Keeli; great-nephews, Logan Bryant and Price Bryant; great-nieces, Kenzi Bryant and Maloria Bush and her children, Kobe and Creed Bush.
