Jade Allen Komarek,44, passed away on February 13, 2023. Jade was born in Lubbock on August 6, 1978. He was raised by his dad, Bruce Komarek, and his grandmother, Emma Komarek (“Grammy”). Jade went to school at Frenship and then the family moved to Albuquerque where he lived for several years. He later moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and then moved back to Lubbock to be with his father and siblings, where he worked for the City of Lubbock in Parks and Recreation. Jade was loved by all of his family and coworkers. He was a loving father to his daughter, Julia, and husband to Jessica. Jade impacted the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He was Big Brother to his brothers and sisters, who all looked up to him. Jade was a very determined person and a hard worker. Jade was a gentle soul with his own unique sense of humor and wasn’t a loud or showy person, instead preferring to quietly take everything in. He is survived by his father Bruce Komarek (Rebecca), mother Patricia Mitchell, siblings Brad, Ashley, and Ian Komarek and Tiffany Nielsen, uncles David, Frank, and Henry Komarek, cousins Ben, Tim, Amanda, Michelle and Alyssa, and grandmother Beverly Nielsen. A memorial to honor Jade’s life will be held at Agape Funeral Home on West 19th on March 25, 2023, at 1 p.m.
