Evalyn Whitten Obituary

Evalyn Whitten 72 passed away Friday, October 21st, 2022. Evalyn was born in Houston, Texas on November 28th, 1949. She married Joe C. Whitten and had three children Jody Heatley, Jeff Whitten, and Jamie Welch. 

 

Evalyn loved spending time with her family. She and Joe traveled often. She loved to go fish and watch the birds. Evalyn served the community of Lake Kemp as the gate keeper. She shared and made many memories and friendships while she lived there. Evalyn loved being a mother and nana. She always made sure everyone was taken care of.  

 

She was survived by her husband Joe C. Whitten of Lubbock, Tx and their three children: Jody Heatley and husband Eddie Heatley, Jeff Whitten, and Jamie Welch and husband Tommy Welch of Lubbock, Tx.  Seven grandchildren; Brittanie Guzman and husband Johnny Guzman of Lubbock, Tx, Jeffrey Whitten and wife Courtney Whitten of Liberty Hill, Tx, Kayla Daily and husband Taylor Daily of Kerrville, Tx, Megan Lewellen and husband Grant Lewellen of Bastrop, Tx, Garrett Heatley of Lubbock, Tx,  Gracie Welch of Lubbock, Tx, and Jaycee Welch of Lubbock, Tx. Two great grandchildren, Easton Whitten and Cohen Daily. 

 

There will be a private memorial held for immediate family in Lubbock and at Lake Kemp. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of the South Plains.
