Obituary

David Vasquez, 72, of Lubbock, Texas passed peacefully at home with his wife by his bed side on Monday, March 27, 2023. He was born to the late Simon and Maria Vasquez on September 29, 1950 in Waxahachie, Texas. David and Marie were life time friends and were reunited in 1997. They were married on September 24, 2016. He worked as a carpenter for many years until retiring. David was known as “The Lemon Man” at the National Flea Market. In his free time he enjoyed listening to music, playing the drums and especially loved dancing. David had his own band in the 60’s called “Los Pobres”. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all. David is preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Simon and Angie Vasquez. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie; children; Trixie Dunning, Tracy Vasquez, Eli and wife Erica Elizardo, Debra Elizardo, and Vincent Hernandez; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephew and friends. No memorial services will be held per David’s last wishes. The family asks that you cherish his memory by remembering his love for his family, the laughs shared, the perfectly taken care of yard, and his caring heart.
