Daniel Ray David was born Oct. 16, 1954 in Renton, Washington the second child of Melba Jewel Littleford and Jerry Peter Joseph David. Dan lived in Covington, Washington until the family moved to Idaho Falls in 1964. He attended Skyline High School, then graduated with an Associate degree and a Bachelor’s degree.
Dan was married to Carol Haight for a short time. He then married Lou Anna Olsen-Butler who was the love of his life and life-long companion. Lou Anna had two children Todd Butler and Janae Butler. Dan lived his last year with Penney Gurrola. Her four children considered him their stepfather.
Daniel is survived by his stepmother Joyce David, siblings Ricky Joe David (Beth Ann), Peggy Hill (Darrell), Steven (Debra) Nelson, Samuel Nelson, Matthew David, Brian David, Jody David-Waite, Tiffany David, stepson Todd Butler, step grandson Randy Butler, stepdaughter Janae David, step grandsons Michael David and Derek David and many great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife Lou Anna, parents Melba and Jerry, sisters Judy and Darla, brothers Michael and Timothy.
Dan was a jack of all trades. Dan obtained his Pilot’s License and loved to fly. He also loved riding motorcycles. He was an amateur radio operator and could do Morse Code at over 20 words per minute. He and Lou Anna loved to travel in their RV to see the country and visit family. Dan loved helping others. He never let his disabilities get in the way of accomplishing what he wanted to do.
