Wayne Casey Obituary Wayne "Tad" Casey December 16, 1955 – May 2, 2025, Wayne "Tad" Casey, 69, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2025, in his hometown of Lubbock. Born on December 16, 1955, in Lubbock, Wayne dedicated his life to serving his community and supporting those around him. He began his career in law enforcement with the Lubbock Police Department, eventually serving as an investigator in the Crimes Against Children unit. His work left a lasting legacy, and he is remembered not only for his professionalism but for the compassion and strength he brought to those he helped. Outside of his career, Wayne had a passion for youth sports and community involvement. He served as president of Dixie Little League, head coach of his son Brandon's baseball team, and head coach for his son Jordan's YFL football team. His mentorship and leadership had a lasting influence on countless young athletes; many of whom still carry the lessons he taught them. Known for his enthusiasm and unforgettable energy on the field, Wayne had a way of rallying his teams with signature sayings. In baseball, he would shout "WHO ARE YA!"—a chant that still echoes in the memories of his players. On the football field, his trademark call of "HIT THE POLE!" was both a challenge and a motivator, capturing his drive to push others to give their best. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Casey; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Janie Casey; his sons, Brandon Casey and his fiancée Callie, and Jordan Casey and Austin Trevino; and his grandson, Cash Casey. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, and a friend to many. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lone Star Cowboy Church, 1309 E FM 1585, Lubbock, Texas. The family deeply appreciates the many calls, messages, and expressions of support during this time. Thank you
