Virginia McCann Obituary Virginia McCann -- Buffalo Springs Lake On February 21, Virginia McCann went home to be with her Jesus. Virginia, 88, lived a full life and experienced and accomplished far more than an entire edition of this newspaper could hold. Virginia was a beloved mother, Gran and sister. Virginia was born in Big Springs, TX on October 5, 1928 to William Edgar & Myrtle Patterson. She married Joel Cornelius McCann on February 15, 1947. Virginia and Joel spent most of their lives & raised their two children at Buffalo Springs Lake, where she was the first gate attendant and he was the first lake ranger. Joel preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Morgan McCann. Survivors include: daughter, Judy McEwin and her husband, Jim; a son, Jimmy McCann; 4 grandchildren- Jason McCann & wife, Melanie; Jared Dewbre & wife, Jordan; Brandon Dewbre & wife, Amanda and April Dewbre as well as 5 great-grandchildren. The family will have a private memorial to honor their beloved Gran. The family suggests memorials be made to Buffalo Springs Lake Community Church.
