Sydney Larsen Obituary Sydney Louise Dorman Larsen, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She was born to Hubert and Kathryn Dorman, on July 10, 1944, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the second of five siblings: Karen, Vicky, Jan, and Jeff. Sydney graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1962 and attended St. Paul Bible College. Sydney met Glenn in the summer of 1958 and eloped on June 1, 1963. They lived together in St. Paul until relocating to Billings, Montana in 1970. They relocated to Lubbock, Texas in 1980. In 1991, she took courses at South Plains College and Trinity Bible Institute where she received a certificate in Christian Studies. She worked many years at Trinity Church as a secretary to Delmar Ross in the outreach department. Then, she moved to LISD as a secretary to the auto tech department at Byron Martin Advanced Technologies Center. Sydney helped in the community as an on-call substitute teacher for a short time while being retired. Sydney is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristine Fuller and her husband Kenny; son, Brian Larsen and his wife, Tracey; son, Keith Larsen and his wife, Angela; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Brittany, Zachary, Xander, and Noah; four great- grandchildren, Brooklynn, Leighton, Ledger, and Halle. Sydney devoted her life to God, prayer, her family, and reading the Bible daily. She attended church every service time, attended prime timers, Sunday school, women's prayer groups, sang in the choir, and was involved in a Walk to Emmaus. She enjoyed game nights with her family and attended Trinity Church game nights. She was a prayer warrior and would drop her plans to help or pray for another. As a mom, she made summers fun. After we did our chores, she would take us to a summer movie, swimming, the fair, etc. She was organized. Camping and summer trips to Minnesota were something she enjoyed doing with her family. Sydney was diagnosed with Parkinson's about six years ago. She sold her house and moved into the Ventura Sky active retirement housing. She was very happy there. Three meals a day and she did not have to cook. She participated in bean bag baseball and kept score, loved walking the grounds for exercise, and enjoyed musical guests. This year in March she took a turn for the worse and her Parkinson's progressed rapidly. She was then moved to assisted living at Promise Land where she passed away. She is with her Father God in Heaven and my guess, is still praying for all of us. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17 at Turning Point Church, 11202 Quaker Ave. Lubbock, Tx. In lieu of flowers please donate to Parkinson's Foundation Services
