Steven Leon
Rinker
Jul 8, 1958 — Sep 6, 2026
Steven Rinker, 68, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on September 6, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be deeply missed.
Steve was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on July 8, 1958, to Ray and Helen Rinker. He had a passion for music and learned to play guitar with his twin brother, Stan, at an early age. He graduated from Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas where he served as drum major his junior and senior years. Steve committed decades of his life to a career in truck driving, and enjoyed fishing on Table Rock Lake in Missouri and spending time with his family. A passionate Red Raider through and through, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Texas Tech football and baseball teams.
Steve is survived by his wife, Melodie Rinker of Lubbock, Texas; his daughter Sarah Pendley (Mark) of Flower Mound, Texas; his brother, Dan Rinker (Kelly) of Nixa, Missouri; his brother, Tim Rinker (Marty) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sister, Laurie Henderson (Gary) of Shell Knob, Missouri; his nephew, Jason Raglin of Lubbock, Texas; and his beloved grandchildren, J'Den, Elexa, Hayley, and Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stan Rinker.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steve's memory to the American Heart Association.
