Sonny Crockett Obituary James (Sonny) Crocket, longtime resident of Fort Sumner, NM, was called home to the Lord on May 7, 2014 at 1:20 A.M., after a two week battle with COPD and pneumonia. Sonny and Mary lived in Lovington, NM at the time of his passing. Sonny was preceded in death by their first born child Teri Lou Crockett; his parents Loyd and Louise (Alexander) Crockett; and a lifelong friend and brother in law, Buster Johnson. He is survived by Mary (Nearhood) Crockett, his loving wife of 48 years; 2 sons, David Crockett and Kevin Crockett and wife Holly, all of Lovington; two grandchildren, Kendra and Devin Crockett of Lovington; one great grandson, Nickolas Lively of Lovington; and a great grandson, on-the-way, A. J. Crockett; two sisters, Vicky Adams of Winston, NM and Lamoin Johnson of Alamogordo, NM; several men he loved like his own children: Beau and Tyron Bivins, and Kelby Randolph; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, and many good friends. A memorial service, to commemorate Sonny's 77 years of life, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., May 31, 2014 at the Crockett Ranch in Hope NM.
