Shirley Hamlin Obituary Shirley Jo Hamlin passed away at Covenant Medical Center in on April 5, 2013 after a short battle with lung cancer. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staffs of the Palliative Unit, South 10, and South 5 for their wonderful care. Shirley earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Tech University and spent her entire career serving the West Texas and New Mexico area as a Registered Dietician. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Burg and Opal Tucker and son, Elson Ray Tucker. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, AJ; three daughters, Beth Garrett (Ed) of Lubbock, Lisa Harwell (Vernon) Fort Worth, TX, Cindy Burleson, Lubbock, TX; son, Jonny Hamlin (Kay,)Lubbock, TX; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her brother, Ray Tucker (Vicki). Memorial service will take place at The Worship Center, 12701 Indiana, Lubbock, TX, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 3:00 pm.
