Roy McCoy Obituary Roy McCoy went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2017. He was born July 24, 1951 in Checotah, Oklahoma. His parents were Ples (Shindy) and Edith McCoy. Roy attended Oklahoma State University where he earned his teaching degree in Ag Education. Roy taught High School Agriculture for 33 ½ years and retired from teaching January, 2017. He is survived by his mother, Edith McCoy of Checotah, Oklahoma, and his wife, "Deb". Children born of the marriage of Roy and Beth Massey are daughter, Keri Pierce and husband, Bryan Pierce, Sara Cooley and husband, Cameron, and Michael McCoy. Other children recognized by Roy as his own are Collin Howard, and wife Megan Howard, and Jordan Moore and husband Brandon Moore. Roy's pride and joy were his grandchildren, Katey Pierce, Logan Pierce, Cara Beth Cooley, Riggs Cooley, Jaelynn Mays, Harper Howard, and Jase Moore and Jaxon Moore. Roy is also survived by his brother Mike McCoy and wife Brenda of Checotah, sister, Janetta Blankenship of Oklahoma City and Betty Whisenhunt and husband Don of Checotah. Roy was an OSU fan and was very proud wearing his orange and black. He was the first paid Student Manager at the Swine Evaluation Station at Oklahoma State University. He had recently been accepted to serve on the Validation Compliance Team for the State of Texas and was really looking forward to serving in that position. Roy's favorite times were attending the major stock shows with the kids and their families just hoping to get that button! He made many friends throughout the years going up and down the highway trying to find that one hog that was going to win it all. Please join us in celebrating Roy's life on Saturday, October 21 , 2017 at the Smyer AgBarn, Smyer, Texas beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a meal will be served immediately following.
