Ronald Bishop Obituary Gary Bishop, (83), of Lubbock, Texas passed away from natural causes on May 19th, 2023, surrounded by his loving bride and lifelong friends. Gary wore many hats over his lifetime, and was fondly known as "Pops", "Dad", "Pappy" and "My Love". He was born on September 12th, 1939 to Jim and Marie Bishop in Beech Grove, Indiana. He was raised in the Midwest and graduated with a Master of Science in Medical Illustration from The Medical College of Georgia. He then moved to Texas as Medical Illustrator Department Head at Texas Tech University and proceeded to call Lubbock home for over five decades. He was compassionate, funny, athletic, a talented artist and a dirt bike enthusiast. Additionally, he enjoyed camping, recreational boating and loved the great outdoors. Gary is survived by his wife Linda; two children, Robb Stralow and Jane Reed; and two grandchildren, Matt and Lauren Reed. He is also survived by brothers Ken (Martha) and Rick along with niece Amy Chouinard (Robert), and nephews Doug Bishop (Bethany) and Phillip Bishop (Brittany) and all of their children. Gary held many titles in his life, from artist to entrepreneur, but his favorite roles were being a friend, husband and father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his friends and family. He was always there for them, whether sipping a toddy in person or cheering them on in life. Gary will always be remembered and greatly missed by all who love him.
