Richard Smith, Sr Obituary Richard Lewis Smith, Sr. passed from this life Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. He was born into this life Monday, April 4, 1938 to Ivan and Rosalee (Wood) Smith in Oxford, NY. Richard married Nancy on October 8,1962; they were blessed with 6 children. Richard was a welder by trade, he worked for Reese Air Force Base, and later at Scott Manufacturing. Outside of family and work, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and car races; he was a big fan of Dale Sr., and Dale Jr. Earnhardt. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, and a daughter, Connie Smith. he is survived by children, Linda Banks, Charles and Lorrie Smith, John Smith, Richard Smith, and Lisa and Carl Pugh; Grandchildren: Neil, Misty, Buddy, D.J., Troy, Shane, Jason, Kyamesha, C.C., and Zabeonna; 21 Great-grandchildren; lots of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. A graveside service to commemorate the 76 years of Richard's life, is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, with T.J. Thomas officiating. Richard's family will greet friends form 5-7 P.M., Monday, August 4, 2014 at Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock. Arrangements were entrusted to Agape Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Lubbock.
