Paul Gonzales passed away on November 4, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born on March 25, 1977, in El Paso, Texas.
Paul built a life centered on caring for others. He earned an associate degree in Child Development from South Plains College. For five years, he served as the director of several area daycares before becoming an executive director for assisted living communities throughout the surrounding areas and across the state of Texas. His work reflected his generous spirit and his desire to help people at every stage of life.
Outside of work, Paul enjoyed crafting, traveling, shopping, and spending money on the people he loved. He was also a devoted Texas Tech fan. More than anything, Paul loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He was deeply family-oriented and was always there to care for and support those he loved. To many of his nieces and nephews, he was simply “Uncle Paul,” a name spoken with love and affection. He especially enjoyed attending their sporting events and being present for the moments that mattered most.
Paul is survived by his spouse of 27 years, Joey DeLeon; his mother, Gracie Gonzales; his brother, Johnny Gonzales, and his wife, Martina; and his sister, Victoria Lovato, and her husband, Armando. He also leaves behind Bacon and Biscuit, his beloved Yorkie fur babies, as well as many loving nieces and nephews whom he held dear to his heart: Jonathan, Anthony, Diseree, Ryan, Javen, Averie, Kheidi, Zane, Maddox, Chelsea, Jacob, Jose, Levi, Desiree, Lauren, Gabe, Abbigail, Elijah, Adrian, Seth, and Eleana.
Paul’s love for his family was constant, and his presence brought comfort, joy, and support to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Alvino Lovato Jr.; his mother-in-law, Elia DeLeon; his grandparents; and other beloved family members and friends.
Paul Gonzales will be remembered for his caring heart, his devotion to family, and the way he gave so much of himself to others. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
