Patsy Colquitt Obituary Patsy Cates Colquitt was born May 28, 1937, in Ruleville, Mississippi, to parents L.B. and Mable Cates. Patsy passed away from natural causes on February 4, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 85. Patsy was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Ruddy, her beloved son Jay Colquitt, and cherished grandson Lenzy Colquitt. She is survived by sister Peggy Hormberg and husband Bob of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter Rhonda Long and husband Don of Lubbock; daughter Jan Colquitt and partner Virgil Rowe of Lubbock; grandson Matt Long of Northlake, TX; granddaughter Kasey Long of Lubbock and great grandchildren Avery Holson and Peyton Chesley. Patsy retired in 2007 after being a long time, dedicated employee of Rip Griffin Companies where she worked in accounts and property management and was personal assistant to Mr. Griffin. She also obtained her real estate license and prepared income taxes for countless people over the years. The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs of both Adams Assisted Living and Hospice of Lubbock who provided absolutely the most loving care we could've asked for. Patsy's family will celebrate her life in a private graveside service on February 13 at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Lubbock, TX.
