Obituary

Patrick Haden Obituary Patrick Kevin Haden, 51, passed away surrounded by family on Oct. 16, 2015, in Lubbock, Texas, seven weeks after being hit by a drunk driver. Patrick was born on March 7, 1964, in Sumter, S.C., and was the youngest of five siblings. As an adolescent, he displayed an uncanny ability to make people smile and a passion for playing baseball. He graduated from Dill City High School and went on to become an Operations Foreman at Texas Tech University, where he gained the loyalty of his employees and worked diligently over the course of 24 years (despite the fact that he was a diehard OU fan). On Jan. 26, 2000, Patrick celebrated the birth of his first and only child, Lexi Haden, and on Nov. 30th, 2013, he married the love of his life, Alexis Haden. Patrick will be remembered as a gentle and loving man; someone that never hesitated to lend a helping hand, be it airing up basketballs for the neighborhood kids, aiding elderly couples as they put up their tents at the local farmer's market, or stopping to change a spare tire for a stranded stranger. He enjoyed wrestling with his nephews, playing golf with his friends, and spending time with his family, all of whom will miss him dearly. Patrick is survived by his wife, Alexis Haden; daughter, Lexi Haden; parents, Jim Haden and Mary Wheeler; sisters, Deborah Brown and Toni Falen; brothers, Guy Haden and Jimmy Haden; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many, many friends. Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31st at 2 p.m. at the Ransom Canyon Memorial Chapel, with reception to follow at the Ransom Canyon Ranch House. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patrick's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations go to your local little league baseball team in Patrick's name. Services
