Oreta Mead Obituary Oreta Fay Mead, 89, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on May 5, 1935, Fay dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, providing a loving and nurturing environment for all who entered her home. She found joy in sewing, cooking, and crafting. Fay was a devout member of Trinity Church, where she engaged actively in community and spiritual activities. Fay is survived by her two sons, David and his wife Anita and Wendell his wife Tanis, and a daughter, Janet Jameson and her husband Lynn, all of Lubbock; a brother, Morgan Baker of Lubbock; three sisters, Von Simpson of Matador, Thelma Boedecker of Plainview, and Mary Marshall of Matador; along with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Ruth Baker; her husband, James; and brothers, Durrell and Kenneth Baker. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM on Friday, November 22nd at Agape Funeral Chapel. Services for Fay will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, November 23rd at the same location with Pastor Chad Lawrence officiating.
