Opal Hollingsworth Obituary Opal Dee (Bohannan) Hollingsworth 99, of Hale Center, Texas, died Friday, July 28, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. She had lived at Heartland House Assisted Living in Lubbock for over 10 years. Opal was born August 3, 1917 in Knox City, Texas, to parents Homer and Ruby Bohannan. She attended high school at Knox City, before moving to Hale Center. She attended Draughn's Business School in Plainview, TX after which she began work at The State Department in Washington, DC. She worked in Communications decoding messages. Opal and Albert A. Hollingsworth married after the war in 1946 and resided in Hale Center where Albert farmed and she was a homemaker. Opal and Albert had two children, Homer Gilliam and Ruby Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Hollingsworth and son, Homer Gilliam Hollingsworth. Survivors include a daughter, Rubeth Griffing and her husband, Bill, two grandchildren, Casey Griffing and his wife Ashlie, and Sarah (Griffing) Hodges and her husband JT, two great grandsons, Mason Griffing and Laikin Hodges, and one great granddaughter, Lizzie Hodges.
