Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and endless gratitude for a life lived that we announce the passing of Michael Peter Tolar, age 74, of Lubbock, TX. Michael passed away peacefully on July 23rd , surrounded by his loved ones.

Michael had a very clear understanding of the Holy Spirit and shared it with his family and close friends. He knew the difference between right and wrong and did not hesitate to express his strong beliefs. He did not choose to do wrong just to please others, pleasing God was his top priority.

Michael's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a loving and caring husband to his wife, Mary Trinidad (Trini), with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. He supported Trini in all her academic and professional endeavors and went above and beyond to make sure all her needs were met. When Trini was asked about Michael's hobbies, she would answer "taking care of me."

To his son, Adam, he was a steady anchor, and a source of encouragement. He spent countless hours playing with him and teaching him everything there is to know about life. To his daughter, April, he would offer his gentle wisdom from afar. Though they were across the country, he was always thinking of her and deeply cared about being available to guide her through difficult situations. The love he had for his children was unyielding. His legacy lives on through the kindness, wisdom, and strength he instilled in them.

His natural charisma and magnetic personality drew people to him effortlessly. When he chose to be social, he was the life of the party. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued, seen, and heard. This is what first drew Trini to him when she visited his furniture store many years ago..

His loyalty to his family and friends ran deep. He had few people that he considered true friends, but if you were fortunate enough to call Michael a friend, you had a friend for life—someone who would help you in your time of need.

Michael had a peculiar sense of humor. He brought joy and energy wherever he went. Known for his silly antics, quick wit, and classic "dad jokes," he believed that life should not be boring. He could always find a way to make people smile, even a bad day could be brightened by one of his funny songs or a goofy face.

Michael will be missed by his children, grandchildren, friends, and especially his wife Trini. Trini is sure that he is in heaven watching over everyone and enjoying his new life in Christ.
