Martin Lathey Obituary Martin Lane Lathey "Skip," 63 of Lubbock, passed away on February 6, 2023. He was born on March 21, 1959, in Springfield, Ohio to Theordore and Catherine Lathey. Skip married the love of his life Jean Lathey on February 7, 1985. Skip enjoyed a good day fishing or remodeling a house. He loved his family and friends. He got a kick out the grandkids when they would do the funniest thing or say the funniest thing. Skip was very loving and caring and had the biggest forgiving heart no matter the person or what the person did. He always said one day they would have to answer the big guy upstairs. Those left to cherish his memories is his children, Dorothy Birmingham, James "Tiger" Birmingham, Miriam Booth (Bruce), Abigail Tompkins (Lucas), Amber Vasquez, Jennifer Cochran (Josh), Jamie Lathey; one brother-in-law Eddie Shoumake (Loretta); Mother, Catherine Lathey; Brother, Butch Lathey (Joyce), Maria Hartman; lots of nieces and nephews. Skip had 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Skip was welcomed home by his wife Dorothy Jean Lathey; his grandson Corey Berry; his father Theodore Lathey; Sisters, Michelle Hixon & Kitty Lathey.
