Obituary

Kathryn Frances Collins, 42, passed away on October 13, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1984.

Kathryn lived with a caring heart and a deep love for other people. She enjoyed helping others and was known for giving her time in meaningful ways. She visited local nursing homes with her Australian Shepherd, D.O.G., bringing companionship and comfort to elderly residents. She also enjoyed couponing and used that interest to gather donations for the local women’s shelter to help women in need. In addition, she volunteered at the local food bank. Kathryn was an excellent cook and an avid fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Education remained an important part of her life. Kathryn graduated from Texas Tech University in 2011, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Psychology. She had recently obtained her CNA license and was working toward earning her BSN in nursing, continuing her desire to care for others through both service and study.

One of the happiest moments of her life was marrying her husband, Craig Collins, on August 6, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Above all, her children were her world. She loved all three of them equally, followed closely by Craig, and her devotion to her family was at the center of her life.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Craig Collins. She is also survived by her father, Luke Drinkwin, and his wife, Norma Drinkwin, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her mother, Jean Haverstick, of El Paso, Texas; her sons, Wyatt Maples, Grant Maples, and Rhett Dickman, all of Odessa, Texas; her brother, Luke Drinkwin Jr., of El Paso, Texas; and her sister, Christyn Drinkwin-Young, of Aurora, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her son, Drew Dickman.

Kathryn will be remembered for her kindness, her generous spirit, and the way she quietly served those around her. Her love for family, her compassion for strangers, and her determination to keep growing and helping others will remain with all who knew and loved her.
