Juan Vargas Obituary Rev. Juan R. Vargas passed from this life Tuesday, November 27, 2012. He was born into this life Tuesday, November 24, 1925 to Manuel and Clarita (Ruis) Vargas in Gillette, TX. A funeral service, for Rev. Juan Vargas, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 3, 2012 at Church of the Blessed, with Pastor Eliseo Vargas officiating. Rev Juan Vargas will be in state at the Church of the Blessed, from 6:30-9:30 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2012; Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 6:00-9:30 P.M. Rev. Juan Vargas will be laid to rest at City of Lubbock Cemetery, following the Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 3, 2012. Arrangements were entrusted to Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock, TX. Rev. Juan Vargas was preceded in death by his Father and Mother; two brothers, Victor Vargas and Adolfo Vargas; and a sister, Sara Vargas. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elvira Flores Vargas; 6 sons, John Vargas, Joshua Vargas, David Vargas, Rubin Vargas, Eliseo Vargas, Elias Vargas; 3 daughters, Angel Longoria, Vera Gonzales, Mary Vargas; 30 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
