John Ross Obituary John Ross passed from this life Friday, October 25, 2013 in Lubbock. He was born into this life Friday, August 15, 1941 to James Henry and Francis (Vasquez) Ross in Ennis, TX. He graduated from the Texas School for the blind, where he participated in wrestling. John married Irene Olivas June 4, 1990. John did volunteer work for Care Ministries for 22 years, along with Meals on Wheels. He liked western movies, fishing, and The Price is Right spin-off. John loved the Lord, his family, friends, and the Church. John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Ross. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Irene; his children, Tina Ross, John Ross, Jr., Delores Ross all of Amarillo, TX, Adam Rubio and Ray Covarrubio; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Reyes of Rice, TX, Angie Derringer of Huston, TX, and Pauline Deopere of Wichita Falls, TX. A funeral service, to commemorate John's 72 years of life, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lubbock, with Pastor Jeremiah Sergant officiating; burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodrow. John's family will greet friends from 5-7 P.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions, in honor of John, made to Crown Pointe Hospice 7727 Quaker Ave Lubbock, TX 79424.
