Joe Gonzales Obituary It is with great sadness that the family of Joe Gonzales announces his passing after a sudden illness, on Monday, April 11, 2016, at the age of 51 years at University Medical Center. His love for life will go on through the gift of organ donation. Memorial service for Mr. Gonzales will be Thursday April 14, 2016 at Agape Funeral Chapel at 3pm. Joe was born August 11, 1964 in Lubbock, TX to Nicanor and Camila Gonzales. In 1993 he married Monica Cardenas. He worked as a member of the kitchen staff for Tech Café from 2010 until his passing. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed barbecuing, spending time with his family, and loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by Nicanor and Camila Gonzales, Maria Delgado, and Simona Gonzales. Joe is survived by his former wife Monica Cardenas of Lubbock; two sons, Joe Gonzales Jr. and Emilio Gonzales both of Lubbock; one daughter Rebecca Gonzales of Lubbock; one granddaughter Adelynn Gonzales of Lubbock; a sister and brother-in-law Betty Janssen and John Rose of Lubbock; a sister Olga Hernandez of Lubbock; a sister Sally Lack of Austin; a brother Jose Delgado Jr. of Lubbock; a brother and sister-in-law Gabriel and Robyn Delgado of Cincinnati, OH; a sister and brother-in-law Corina and Gabriel Benitez; a step-father Jose Rios Delgado; several nephews and nieces.
