Obituary

Janet (Jan) Fae Fountain, age 74, passed away surrounded by love at home on January 12, 2026.

She was born in Crane, Texas, and made her home in Lubbock, Texas. She spent most of her life serving her family, her faith, and her community.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh McManus and Buella McManus; her beloved husband, Larry Fountain; and her cherished grandson, Brennen Randall.

She is survived by her daughters, Christi Randall of Lubbock, Texas, and Ashley Jones of Lubbock, Texas. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Paris Gonzalez and her husband Nathaniel Kellough of Lubbock, Texas; Summer Kincheloe and her husband Draven Kincheloe of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Nadya Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas. Janet was blessed to be a great-grandmother to Payton Randall, who brought her great joy.

Janet devoted 40 years of her life to education as a science teacher, shaping young minds with patience, intelligence, and a deep sense of purpose. Teaching was more than a career for her—it was a calling.

Above all, Janet loved God and her family. Her faith guided her life, and her love for those around her was steady and unconditional. She will be remembered for her strength, her dedication, and the quiet but powerful impact she had on everyone who knew her.
