Obituary

James Cope Obituary James Eston Cope, born in Miami Florida March 6 1942, passed in Lubbock Texas June 4 2014 was a great man of God and loved by many. Jim is survived by his two children Denise Cope Wilson and Lahoma Cope, his grandchildren Kyle Cope, Nadia Bacca and Adianna Russo, his great granddaughter Mia Brown, and his two brothers Bob and Cecil Cope. Jim served in the United States Air Force serving his country in Vietnam. After his honourable discharge he performed the function of Administrator of Southwestern Assemblies of God University for five years. He further served his country and his God as a Minister for 20 years. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University achieving his Masters in Psychology. Upon retiring from Ministry he worked in various roles before starting his own business Lubbock Christian Business Directory. Jim was a Charismatic, selfless, generous, kind hearted man who cared about the well being of others before the well being of himself. He loved people with all his heart unconditionally and never held anything back. He will forever be loved and missed but his memory will forever live on. Jim was known for his love and laughter, his tears and love of food. Through these things he brought people together. Jim was forever late but thanks to family and friends making appointments an hour later than he thought they were, this was safely overcome (except church meetings where he was late regardless). Jim was the type of man who would drop everything to help his family. God, through Jim helped a great many people throughout his lifetime touching many. May we all remember him and his God given blessings, may he rest in peace beside his Father in the place that was prepared for him. Jim's Memorial Service will be held at the Harvest Christian Fellowship Corner of 51st and University at 11am on Saturday June 14. All are welcome to attend.
