Hugh "Pug" Oden Obituary Youtube Link of the Celebration of Life of Hugh Dempsey Oden Celebrating the Life of Hugh Dempsey Oden May 29, 1939 - May 21, 2025 Hugh Dempsey Oden of Lubbock Texas was born May 29, 1939, to Burl and Ola Camp Oden in Haleyville, Alabama. He passed away on May 21, 2025. At a young age he and his family moved from Alabama to Snyder Texas, then eventually to Andrews Texas where he spent his teenage years and graduated from Andrews High School. After graduating high school, he attended Odessa College where he played tennis. He eventually in the 1970's chose to begin working in construction in Lubbock and the surrounding counties. In his retirement years he enjoyed visiting with friends at coffee shops. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Merritt. Hugh is survived by his four children Michael Oden, wife Myra of Lubbock Texas, Darrell Oden, wife Heather of Georgetown Texas, Misty Oden of Van Horn Texas, Tommy Oden of Lubbock Texas. His twelve grandchildren Brittany Long, Jacklyn Long, Brett Long, Triston Long, Holle Del Signore husband Damion, Payton Oden, Hunter Oden, Landon Oden, Pierce Bickel, Nathan Oden, Kent Oden and Kash Oden. He also has one great grandson Everett Long. A memorial service will be officiated by Dr. Eric Barbee and will be held on Monday May 26th at 10:00 am at Fellowship Church Lubbock located at 7505 Avenue U, Lubbock Texas.
