Helen McFarland Obituary Helen McFarland, 82 years of age, passed on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at home. Helen was born September 7, 1942, in Springfield, Illinois to the late Russell Blakeman and Geraldine Upton. She was the oldest of three children with her brother and sister preceding her in death. Helen married the love of her life the late Thomas McFarland in 1959. They had three daughters born from this union. Thomas was in the United States Air Force and the family lived the life of the military moving often. Thomas and Helen retired and remained in Lubbock, Texas there afterwards. Helen's biggest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to read and color pictures. She was wicked smart at crossword puzzles and enjoyed a good card game. Helen leaves to cherish her loving memory her three daughters Tina Overson, Terri (Rodney) Fallin, and Tammi (Gerald) Chock; her eight grandchildren; her 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside services are scheduled to celebrate Helen's life on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 10:00 am at Lubbock Cemetery. Services
