Helen Boone Obituary Helen L. Sanders Boone, 84, of Lubbock passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at First Christian Church of Lubbock, Hodges Chapel, with Dr. Michael Passmore officiating. Helen was born September 6, 1927 in Clarendon, Texas to Archie J. and Katy Ann Wood. She was a longtime resident and business woman in Lubbock. She was married Tommy J. Sanders for 23 years. During their marriage, they owned the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner business in Lubbock for 15 years. She married Horace D. Boone on October 17, 1969 and they shared 41 wonderful years together until he predeceased Helen on May 29. 2010. Survivors include three daughters, Susan Sanders Long, Vicki Boone McCrary, and Lana Boone Jones, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one brother, Jack Wood. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Helen's memory to First Christian Church of Lubbock, 2323 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas 79401.
