Eva Vargas Cantu, born on March 19, 1958, passed away on June 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Eva lived a life enriched by the things she loved most. She enjoyed cooking and took pride in preparing meals that brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Her crocheting reflected both patience and creativity, and her gardening showed her appreciation for beauty, growth, and care. She also found pleasure in reading, especially romance, western, and mystery novels, and enjoyed watching crime, mystery, comedy, and science fiction films, finding entertainment in stories that challenged the mind, lifted the spirit, or simply brought a smile.

Eva was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Samuel D. Vargas and Siria Montes Vargas, as well as her three brothers, Henry Vargas, Fernando Vargas, and Samuel Vargas Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Josefina Gilead, Amelia Lockwood, Frances V. Fandel, and Linda Vargas; and her brother, Rudy Vargas. She also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to honor Eva's life will be held on Monday June 8th, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the O'Donnell Cemetery located in O'Donnell, Texas.
