Detress Witty Obituary Detress Anne Witty, celebrated for her vibrant ense of humor and candid spirit, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 69. Born on December 16, 1955, in Lubbock, Detress filled her life and the lives of those around her with laughter, music, and creative expression. With wit as sharp as her love for life was wide, Detress was always ready with a song on her lips or a joke to share. Her passion for singing and her eclectic taste in music were matched only by her talent for crafting, where her artistic visions came alive in countless heartfelt creations. Detress had a deep love for animals, championing their care and well-being throughout her life. She also cherished her many nieces and nephews, whom she adored and who brought immense joy to her life. Preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Robert Witty Jr., Detress's memory lives on through her loving family: her devoted daughter, Lacey, and son-in-law, Ben Leser; her cherished siblings, sister Cathy, and brothers Bryan and Calvin; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews; along with many dear friends who will miss her unfiltered conversations and warm spirit. A celebration of Detress's life will take place on May 17th at VFW Post 2466, located at 501 114th St, Lubbock, Texas, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All who knew her are invited to come together in remembrance, to share stories of joy and laughter in honor of a truly unique and beloved woman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Operation Pawprints at [mark-paden.com/donations](https://www.mark-paden.com/donations), reflecting Detress's generous heart and her dedication to helping others, especially her beloved animals.
