Darrin Stanley
Smith
Apr 22, 1971 — Apr 21, 2026
Darrin Stanley Smith of Lubbock Texas was born on April 22 of 1971 in Red Deer Canada to Ruth and Stanley Smith. At age 54 on April 21, 2026 he passed away after courageously battling numerous health issues.
Darrin spoke with nothing but love and respect for his mother. He loved to tell stories about growing up with his four younger brothers, running around the woods.
Darrin received degrees in drafting and 3-D animation and worked as a drafter for over 20 years. His best friend Mike recruited him for work in the United States. He moved to Tooele, Utah in January 2000.
Darrin became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and was a faithful member throughout his life.
Darrin met his eternal companion Shannon in August 2000, and gained his oldest son Daniel. They were joined by their youngest son Benjamin in 2008. The family was sealed together in the Bountiful Utah Temple. Darrin was a devoted husband and father and he generously loved and served his family
Darrin's work took the family from Utah to Montana, to Arizona, ultimately settling in Lubbock Texas.
When Darrin became disabled in 2016, he discovered and developed his talent for graphic art. Darrin and Shannon were even fortunate enough to work side-by-side designing for a paper craft company. A time that they both cherished.
Darrin defied the odds many times over and selflessly endured to spend as much time as he could with his family. We love our mighty warrior!
Darrin was preceded in death by his father Stanley Smith, and his stepbrother James Litster.
He is survived by his wife Shannon, sons Daniel and Benjamin, his mother Ruth Litster, stepfather Jim Litster, brothers Steve (Gina), Kevin, Jason(Caroline), and stepsisters JoAnn and Tammy.
The family would like to thank Lisa and Ghaniah and especially Lexi for their kind and compassionate care of Darrin.
