Darrell Edward Odom passed away at his home on April 13, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Darrell was born at home on March 15, 1951, in Post, Texas, to Albert Daniel and Ethel Mae Odom.

He was known for his friendliness, generosity, faith in God, charisma, and remarkable will to live. Darrell loved playing golf, taking walks, and sharing coffee with friends. Some of his fondest memories were his years working with the Griffins at Rip Griffin, watching his daughters twirl in the band, and playing games at Christmas with his granddaughters.

He will be remembered as a kind and giving father and grandfather, and a wonderful friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will not be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his sister, Delores; his brother, Danny; and his son-in-law, Joshua.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Bethany Goen of College Station and Marissa Bonsell and her husband, Aaron, of Alpine; his five grandchildren, Carly Bonsell, Zimrie Goen, Zailie Goen, Greenly Bonsell, and Addison Bonsell; his brother, Dennis Odom and wife, Jane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation for the care provided by Hospice.
