Daniel Hamby Obituary Service for Daniel Alan Hamby, 61 of Ropesville, TX, will be at 11AM Friday, December 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church Ropesville, with Mitch Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock. Daniel died on December 17, 2016. He was born December 28, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Ropesville. Daniel married Victoria Lewise Catlett of Wolfforth, Texas on April 30, 1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church Ropesville. He was a former city councilman. Daniel served on the local Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years and a couple of those years as Fire Chief. Daniel worked with the youth of Ropesville and Meadow with the local Little League serving as President and as a Board Member. He had a lifelong love for helping others. Daniel volunteered his time in doing artwork to beautify the school he went to and loved. Survivors include: wife, Victoria Hamby of Ropesville, TX; sons, Joshua Hamby and fiancé Christian Lincoln of Lubbock, TX, Justin Hamby and wife Elizabeth of San Marcos, TX; two brothers, David Hamby and wife JoBeth of Odessa, TX, Everett Hamby of Little Elm, TX; one sister, Ramona Hamby of Lubbock, TX; five grandchildren and numerous cousins. The family suggests donations to The American Alzheimer's Association. Services
