Blake Izzie
Blakley
Dec 5, 2010 — Jun 18, 2023
Blake Blakley Obituary Blake Izzie Blakley passed away unexpectedly from Brain Cancer on June 18, 2023. She was born in Lubbock, Texas on December 5, 2010 as Isis Gomez. She was placed in the arms of her mother Trace Blakley on December 8, 2010. She and her two brothers were adopted by Trace on December 28, 2012. Blake's oldest sister insisted she be with her brothers and cared for her when their mother was too ill. Blake attended Cooper Laura Bush Middle School where she was promoting to the seventh grade this fall. She played the French Horn, aspired to live in Mexico supporting herself through art work sales, loved animals and hated bugs. Blake's beloved stuffed animal "Bear Bear" remains at her side. Blake had beautiful dark hair and eyes, was an introvert, gave and received kisses only on the cheek and easily expressed her unlimited opinions. Blake's favorites included: Clay Café, Souper Salad, reading Dog Man and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to her family and/or dogs (Beaner, Birdie, Poppy and Chilton), Dawn of the Croods, Zig and Sharko, sneaking into her mother's bed and screaming at her brothers. She hated snow skiing, water parks and amusement parks. She was her mother's sidecar going everywhere together. Blake was a best friend, fellow fashionista and defender of her older brother especially when it came to their mom cutting his hair. She and her youngest brother were often referred to as twins. Her home still echoes with her voice screaming his name in frustration. Blake's favorite room was the kitchen. She made sure the floors remained sticky with watermelon juice, honey covered handles and milk remained on the counter. Blake loved a banana drowned in chocolate syrup, a little coffee with a lot of flavored creamer then added extra sugar too. She had been known to finish off chocolate ice cream in the middle of the night and leave the evidence dried to her face the next morning. Blake is survived by her mother Trace Blakley, brothers Canaan and Channing Blakley, sister and sister-in-law Hunter and Baili McKinney and many other relatives and friends that loved her. Blake's great grandmother Annie "Ma" Summersgill preceded her. Services will not be held. Please consider honoring Blake by supporting agencies such as Child Protective Services, Big Brothers and Big Sisters Organization, Cooper Schools and Texas Council on Adoptable Children. Blake loved and was loved deeply by many. Her family thanks you for loving her and them so well.
